Import Segment: Several Enhancements

Right now the Import Segment button for cxConnect for WA only uses a date span, which isn't very effective.  Especially if we want to target a segment that is 20 days ago, one day.

Also, we'd like to be able to search hit level data, not just session attributes.  Ironically you CAN do this, we've hacked the process by creating a CSV and uploading it via TMS manually (Admin only) and putting it into the Import/Segments directory on the reporting server.  However, the UI doesn't allow you to do this.

  • Under Consideration
How will this idea be used?

Date Span: We have to set it for 21 days back which means the canisters search through 21 days of data instead of only one day, 20 days ago.  Please change this to date range like <specify> in Session Search.

Search Hit Level: Example, we'd like to be able to create a segment with Log IDs, extracted from our back-end logging system.  Log IDs are hit-level AppData attributes.

Great ask! We're currently discussing with our dev team and will likely need more info/detail on the hit request portion of the request. Will follow-up with additional questions when needed. Thanks

Sure thing.  Email me directly, and I can send you a PDF of step by step instructions  for an Admin to do this for searching for hit-level attributes.  The thing we can't "hack" is how to change it to a date range, instead of a backward span.
